It's fun to stay at the Y-M-C-A, and it's fun to see what a utopia the YMCA offered the youth of Berkshire County on January 29, 1944. "The Oasis" brought more than 1,000 young people to its doors. The only payment accepted, "good behavior," bought entry into the gymnasium and milk bar for dancing, games and refreshment.
We also get to see an image from the children's play of the YMCA, put on at the Academy of Music in 1895.
And a picture of a gym class, from an unknown time.
Join us, to view some of the possibilities of the YMCA in this week's Days Gone By.
