And that’s Ron Pellagrini of Cicero, Ill., awaiting time trials for the “National Championship” drag races that get under way on Memorial Day on May 28, 1963 at Great Lakes Dragway, Union Grove, Wis. Pellagrini turned in a top speed of 187.13 m.p.h. at an elapsed time of 8.93 seconds.
