MORNING TO 10 PM EST THIS EVENING...
* WHAT...Mixed precipitation expected. Total snow accumulations of
3 to 5 inches and ice accumulations of a light glaze. Winds
gusting as high as 35 mph.
* WHERE...In New York, Chemung, Tioga, Broome and Delaware
counties. In Pennsylvania, Bradford, Susquehanna, Northern
Wayne, Wyoming, Lackawanna, Luzerne, Pike and Southern Wayne
counties.
* WHEN...From 7 AM this morning to 10 PM EST this evening.
* IMPACTS...Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous
conditions could impact the morning or evening commute.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Snow will begin between 7 AM and 10 AM this
morning, with locally heavy snowfall rates possible around
midday. Snow will mix with freezing rain and sleet late this
afternoon, changing to all rain overnight. Snowfall amounts will
be highest in higher elevation areas. Due to downsloping winds
and warming temperatures, much of the Wyoming Valley may only
see 1 to 3 inches.

* WHAT...Heavy mixed precipitation expected. Total snow
accumulations of 5 to 8 inches and ice accumulations of a light
glaze up to a tenth of an inch. Winds gusting as high as 35
mph.
* WHERE...Sullivan county.
* IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult. The hazardous
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Snow will begin between 7 and 9 AM this
morning, with snowfall rates of 1 to 2 inches per hour possible
at times. Snow will transition to a mix of freezing rain, sleet,
and snow around sunset, then change to rain overnight. Glazing
from freezing rain may approach a tenth of an inch in some
sheltered valleys. Areas of blowing snow are also likely as
winds gust 30 to 35 mph.
If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food, and water in
your vehicle in case of an emergency.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Snow will move into northern Oneida County
late this morning, and will be heavy at times during the
afternoon and evening. Precipitation will change to a mix of
freezing rain, sleet and drizzle tonight. The mixed
precipitation will change back to lake effect snow showers
around daybreak Thursday, continuing through the day.
