There were no new COVID-19 deaths in the Berkshires, and the county case count climbed by two, the state announced Thursday.

Massachusetts accounted for 50 new deaths Thursday, now totaling 7,201 statewide.

The number of people killed by COVID-19 in Berkshire County remains at 40; to date, 568 have contracted the virus in the Berkshires.

The state Department of Public Health reported that there were 471 new confirmed cases, for a statewide total of 102,063.

In the U.S., 107,029 Americans have been killed by COVID-19, and 1,842,101 have tested positive for the virus, according to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
