Under the direction of Alan Horbal, who has been coordinating the hanging of flags around the city for over 20 years, nearly 500 flags have been posted on utility poles around the city. The volunteers have been working for the last week installing the flags. The metal fabrication department at McCann Technical School manufactured the brackets for the flags and Ocean State Job Lot donated $1,000 worth of flags according to Horbal.
