On a normal day at Berkshire Dogs Unleashed in Lenox, over 40 dogs are boarded and attend day care, while even more come in for grooming and training appointments. Owner Lee Kohlenberger, who fought through an outbreak of kennel cough in April, said that because many people acquired dogs during the pandemic, kennel cough outbreaks have increased due to larger numbers of dogs now being boarded and sent to doggy day cares as their owners return to work.
