Clergy from Downtown Churches in Pittsfield (Cathedral of the Beloved, First United Methodist Church, South and First Church, St. Stephen's Episcopal Church and Zion Lutheran Church) marked Ash Wednesday by distributing ashes throughout Downtown Pittsfield. Each Ash Wednesday, a cross of ashes is traced on each person's forehead as they hear the words from Scripture "Remember that you are dust, and to dust you shall return."
