Artist Melanie Mowinski leads a workshop at Zion Lutheran Church in Pittsfield on Thursday, titled "Making as Consolation."
The event is intended to “hold space for quiet creation” during the hectic time around the holidays, for people to enjoy the meditative and thoughtful act of creating collage. To help participants get started, Mowinski asked them to write down an intention on their pages that would be covered by their collage, to guide them through their pieces and into the rest of their days.
Another "Making as Consolation" event will be held at the church 4:30 to 6 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 13, and is free and open to the public, though prior registration is requested. Registration form can be found here.
