After a microburst wind storm in July of 2021, Pleasant Valley Wildlife Sanctuary in Pittsfield has been left with thousands of downed trees, blocked trails, and the destruction of the Pike’s Pond boardwalk. The MassAudubon property has received $200,000-plus funds from Massachusetts’ $5.3 billion in ARPA funding, but the full cost of the damage is estimated at $800,000 to $1 million.
