Amanda Davis, the nurse leader for the North Adams School District, and Lisa Randall, the district’s COVID-19 coordinator, organize weekly pool testing, contract tracing, and processing results, among other things, to keep students safe and in school as much as possible in the face of COVID-19 from a book storage room-turned-office at Drury High School.
The makeshift office that Davis and her team work out of contains cabinets full of rapid tests, and there are stashes of tissues and hand sanitizer. Lining two of the walls are shelves filled with stacks of stored books, high school English classics like "Moby-Dick," "The Grapes of Wrath" and "The Odyssey."
