Notchview's conditions report for Friday listed a snow base of 2-3 inches. "The weather is great but we could use some snow," the report, which can be found at www.xcskimass.com/conditions/notchview, said. "The surface is standing up OK to skiing traffic. Not enough depth to set a track but firm enough to stay above the dirt."

The groomer on the back of a snowmobile driven by Brett Farrell is pictured here at Notchview on Friday. Grooming of the trails at Notchview allows for continued use of the facility throughout the winter, and also helps to keep skiers on course and in good spirits.
