One month in, Berkshire Flyer riders want more options for coming and going. And more time in the Berkshires

David Paul seated on Flyer

David Paul is seated on the Berkshire Flyer for its return trip Sunday from Pittsfield to New York City. He said he hopes the train adds more options for arrivals and departures in the future. “People aren’t going to come for just one day,” Paul said in an interview Sunday.

PITTSFIELD — After one month, riders on the Berkshire Flyer have thoughts on the train’s arrivals, departures and amenities.

In interviews Sunday before this weekend’s train left Pittsfield, some passengers questioned the relatively late arrival on Fridays — and its 3 p.m. departure Sunday.

The train provides service once a week from New York City to Pittsfield, with stops along the way in Poughkeepsie and Albany, leaving around 3 p.m.
