PITTSFIELD — The Methuselah Bar and Lounge on North Street has closed because employees at the business have been exposed to the coronavirus.

"Please note that due to staffs’ recent exposure to Coronavirus, as a precaution, we will be closed until we know it’s safe to get back to work," the cocktail bar said in a Facebook post on Wednesday. "Stay Safe everyone!"

No further details were immediately available. Mayor Linda Tyer earlier this week warned Pittsfield residents to remain vigilant after an uptick in COVID-19 cases in the city.

Tyer said Pittsfield likely will jump into the “red” category on the state’s stoplight map, which denotes high risk, when the data is updated next, on Thursday.
