"Tales from a Trip to Antarctica,"a multimedia presentation by photographer Peter Baiamonte, will begin at 4 p.m. on Saturday, at Sandisfield Art Center, 5 Hammertown Road, Sandisfield.

Baiamonte, a commercial photographer in New York City who is a second-home resident of Sandisfield, will share his stories, research and planning approach, images, videos and a short film shot during an expedition-style trip he made to Antarctica. Greylock Federal Credit Union is offering Banzai, an online interactive financial education program, for free to every Berkshire County teacher and classroom in grades 3 through 12 this year. Classrooms are also eligible to schedule a visit from a certified financial coach to provide more details on how students can learn financial planning and management from a young age.

Bryan Stevenson, founder of the Equal Justice Initiative, will speak about his book, "Just Mercy," at 8 p.m. on Thursday, in Chapin Hall at Williams College in Williamstown. "Just Mercy" is the "Williams Reads" selection for 2017. The event is free and open to the public.

Williams Reads aims to foster new connections among students, staff, faculty, and community members by exploring diversity through a common reading experience. "Just Mercy," a New York Times bestseller, explores notions of compassion, justice, and mercy through Stevenson's career within the context of the criminal justice system. The Family Center presents "Fun, Free Reading Workshops for Parents and Children!" on Tuesdays, starting Sept. 19, and continuing on Sept. 26, Oct. 3 and Oct. 10, from 11:15 a.m. to noon, at The Cheshire Library, 80 Church St., Cheshire.

This program is free and open to all Northern Berkshire families with children ages 2 to 5 years old. Children and family members will learn to read together through simple activities, and each family who participates will receive a "Ready to Read" tote bag filled with free books and other fun "Ready to Read" materials. Southern Berkshire CARE (Community Advocates & Resources for Everyone) will host a "Fairview E.R./Ambulance Field Trip" for families and kids at 10 a.m. on Saturday at Fairview Hospital, 29 Lewis Ave., Great Barrington. Staff from the Fairview Emergency Department will offer a tour of the emergency room and ambulance garage in an effort to help educate, desensitize and familiarize children with special needs and their friends to these surroundings all while having fun.
