LANESBOROUGH — One or more vandals driving off-road vehicles tore up one of the greens at Donnybrook Country Club over the weekend.

Around 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, Donnybrook manager Matt Kelly heard motors coming from the area of hole No. 3, according to Lanesborough police. The 9-hole public golf course is located off Route 7, just north of Brodie Mountain Road.

Kelly was unavailable on Sunday for further comment about the vandalism.

Either one or more dirt bikes and/or all terrain vehicles (ATVs) left obvious tire marks on the green, police said. The area is a bit secluded, with the green surrounded by woods on three sides.

Police said they would keep an eye out for any recreational vehicles in the area.
