Incumbent Jennifer Welch defeats Mollie Scace in contested race for New Ashford School Committee

At New Ashford's election Tuesday, 29 percent of registered voters turned out to cast ballots in mostly uncontested races, according to Town Clerk Susan Supranowicz.

NEW ASHFORD — School Committee member Jennifer Welch won another three-year term, defeating challenger Mollie Scace, 45-12.

It was the only contested race in Tuesday's annual town election.

With 57 of the town's 194 registered voters casting ballots, turnout was 29 percent, according to Town Clerk Susan Supranowicz.

In uncontested races, Mark Phelps was elected to the Select Board, Kurt Singer to the Board of Health, and Diane George and Tammy Steinhoff to the Planning Board.
