The North Adams City Council members take their oath of office in early 2022. In June, a councilor proposed a code of conduct for elected and appointed officials.

NORTH ADAMS — There have been bouts of dysfunction among the city’s top governing body, and one member is ready to put a stop to it.

But will a majority of her peers support a formal proposal to that end?

That remains unclear. On Tuesday, City Councilor Ashley Shade proposed a code of conduct for elected and appointed officials.
