Former Mass MoCA director Joseph Thompson, facing a charge of motor vehicle homicide by negligent operation, took the stand Wednesday in his defense. He said that as he drove north on Church Street in North Adams one July night in 2018, he saw the single headlight of a motorcycle cross the center line and fully enter his lane. "When I first became aware of it, it was near the centerline of the road passing into my lane, and arcing up to my right."
