Of the 78 championships handed out in the new MIAA state tournament format, some two-thirds of them did not go to No. 1 seeds. Two of those champions, Mount Greylock baseball and Wahconah boys lacrosse, were No. 3 seeds.

The first full week of the Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association’s state postseason tournaments begin with a slew of games on Monday.

Mount Greylock wins its first game in the MIAA Division V baseball tournament. The third-seeded Mounties broke open a one-run game and went on to beat No. 30 Lenox 11-2 Sunday afternoon in a Round of 32 game.

The MIAA has released its brackets for the boys and girls state lacrosse tournments. The Wahconah boys are the highest Berkshire County seed, No. 3 in Division IV. On the girls side, Mount Greylock earned the No. 9 seed in the D-IV field. In all four boys and four girls teams will play in the state tournaments.
