Jurors who voted to acquit J.C. Chadwell of murder tell The Berkshire Eagle that prosecutors didn't produce enough evidence to prove the accused killed Paul Henry. A retired police official says prosecutors could have done more to prove what he sees as a solid case against the defendant.

Prosecutors didn't persuade a jury that Yulanda Chadwell's brother shot and killed a man in 2017. Now, they plan to put her on trial for the role they say she played in misleading investigators probing the homicide.

J.C. Chadwell walked out of Berkshire Superior Court on Wednesday a free man after a jury acquitted him of charges that he had shot and killed Paul Henry in 2017. 

Taking the stand in his own defense, J.C. Chadwell claimed Tuesday that police made false promises that in turn prompted him to confess to a fatal shooting he now says did not commit. The case is now with the 12-person jury.

Opening statements are expected Friday in the trial of J.C. Chadwell, who is accused in the fatal 2017 shooting of Paul Henry at a Fourth of July block party.
