T.J. Weeks says UMass is pretty close to where the team would like to be as it begins Atlantic 10 play on Saturday.

AMHERST — After opening the season winning seven of eight games, the University of Massachusetts went into the holiday break with a more-than-quality 9-3 record.

“I like where we are,” UMass guard T.J. Weeks said after last week’s comeback win over Dartmouth.

The Minutemen had a high point with a complete 71-56 win over Hofstra in the Basketball Hall of Fame Invitational in Brooklyn back on Dec.
