UMass football coach Don Brown had his players under the bubble for the start of spring practice Tuesday morning.

AMHERST — There were new faces, old faces in new numbers and old faces in new positions.

“You know what’s nice when you’re at a place and in your second year?” UMass football coach Don Brown asked rhetorically. “Guys kind of know what to do. You’re not starting from scratch on every snap, drawing it in the sand and all that.
