John Kelley reeled in the biggest fish at the Coles Memorial Ice Fishing Derby last Sunday on Goose Pond. The winner was a 2-pound, 5-ounce brown trout which measured 19 ½ inches long.
In his February report to the Berkshire County League of Sportsmen, DFW Western District Supervisor Andrew Madden reported that the preliminary statewide deer harvest for 2022 was a record with 15,853 deer.
“That harvest highlights growing deer abundance statewide and increased access to permits, with the previous three-year average of 14,007,” he said.
