BOSTON — It wasn’t the way Boston Red Sox manager Alex Cora had it drawn up.

“Man, I just want to win an Opening Day,” Cora said during his pregame meeting with reporters before Thursday’s opener at Fenway Park. “I’m 0 for 4, I think. So let’s win today.
