WILLIAMSTOWN — Alex Axt was medalist for the fourth consecutive match as Mount Greylock beat Lenox 181-205 on Senior Day, Monday.
Playing at home on the course at Waubeeka Golf Links, Axt shot 42, beating Mount Everett’s Cooper Rothvoss by one stroke.
The key to Axt’s win was that he made birdie on the par-5 eighth hole, and that stroke broke what would have been a tie.
The four golfers who scored for Greylock all shot under 50, and they all finished within five strokes of each other. One of those was senior Ben Prescott, who assistant coach Casey Conroy called “a great team captain, and even better role model for the team.”
Prescott was praised for his attitude and sportsmanship after shooting a 46 to help his Mounties to victory.

Ryel birdied the third hole on his way to a 4-over par 40, while Wilson played a consistent round on the road for his own 40.
Monument had the horses to get to a 166, though, and carded two more birdies on the day, including an impressive blind first shot by Jackson Blanchard to birdie the par-3 second hole.
