Lee football opens Intercounty South schedule with a shutout win over Frontier at home

dawson reber runs

Lee's Dawson Reber carries the ball on the goal line against Frontier on Friday night.

LEE — Alex Delvecchio had scored a touchdown before, but not like this.

“Last year, against Commerce, I actually jumped on a ball in the end zone,” the Lee lineman said. “But that’s the first time I’ve ever scored a touchdown, yeah. That was awesome.”

Delvecchio recovered a fumble by Frontier Regional quarterback Aiden Dredge and his scoop-and-score went 75 yards in the final seconds of the second quarter.

It was perhaps the most dramatic of several SportsCenter-caliber highlights for the Wildcats, who routed the Red Hawks 42-0 Friday night.
