Lenox’s Max DiGrigoli was the overall champion at the Western Mass. High School Invitational, Saturday in Greenfield.

GREENFIELD — Max DiGrigoli didn’t have a high school golf season this fall. But that didn’t keep the Lenox golfer from being successful.

DiGrigoli got the best of 30 other high school golfers from the Pioneer Valley to win the inaugural Western Massachusetts High School Invitational, held Saturday at The Country Club of Greenfield.

DiGrigoli shot a 1-under-par 71 on the 6,337-yard Greenfield course to bring home the Division III and the overall championships.

His 71 was one stroke better than Longmeadow’s Tucker Silva, who shot even-par 72. Longmeadow’s Chris Camerlin, Northampton’s Galen Fowles and Frontier’s Gunnar Moore were all two strokes back at 73.

In the Division III championship, DiGrigoli beat Ware’s John Soltys by four strokes, as Soltys shot 3-over 75. Mason Dumas of Monson was seven behind DiGrigoli at 6-over 78.

Silva claimed the title with a one-stroke win in the Division I championship over Fowles and Camerlin.

Moore won in Division II, beating Ryan Leonard of Pope Francis by two strokes.
