Reigning state D-III baseball champion Taconic kicks off defense of its crown to start a busy tournament week

Matt Lee and the Thunder will host No. 30 Pittsfield in the MIAA Division III state tournament on Monday.

The first full week of the Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association’s state postseason tournaments begin with a slew of games on Monday.

Taconic will play Pittsfield for the third time this year, in a Round of 32 baseball game. The Thunder are the defending MIAA Division III champion, having beaten Medfield last summer in the state title game at Wahconah Park.
