NECBL releases its 2023 schedule, with North Adams SteepleCats to open at home

Players stand for the National Anthem

SteepleCats players stand for the National Anthem before playing the team's first game of the season against the Bristol Blues at home at Joe Wolfe Field in North Adams on June 7, 2022. The SteepleCats will open exactly one year to the date of last year's home opener, but it will be the team's NECBL opener.

June 7 might seem to be a long ways away. But for baseball fans, it will be here before you know it.

That’s when the North Adams SteepleCats will open their 2023 NECBL season. The league released its schedule for 2023 on Monday, and that’s when North Adams general manager Paul Procopio found out that the SteepleCats will not only open at home, but will play their first two games in the friendly confines of Joe Wolfe Field.
