Pittsfield's Ryan Abel takes over as manager of the North Adams SteepleCats

Ryan Abel has gone from playing baseball at Taconic and Stonehill College to becoming the Director of Baseball Operations at Division I Florida Atlantic University, and has been named manager of the North Adams SteepleCats.

Ryan Abel wasn't expecting this promotion so quickly.

Abel, Director of Baseball Operations at Division I Florida Atlantic University, was all set to be the hitting coach for the NECBL's North Adams SteepleCats this summer. But when manager Austin Straub decided to step away due to the fact that he and his wife are expecting their first child this spring, the Taconic High School and Stonehill College graduate moved into the manager's slot.
