Comings and goings at Wahconah Park as 4 Pittsfield Suns players are now in the Cape Cod League

After spending much of his summer with the Pittsfield Suns, Drew Metzdorf is finishing the season on Cape Cod with the Orleans Firebirds.

PITTSFIELD — At this point in summer college wood bat baseball seasons, some players begin to pack their gear in order to get back to their colleges and universities. That has not yet happened to the Pittsfield Suns.

But in what might be the ultimate good news-bad news scenario for manager Kevin Donati’s team, four Suns — including three of the team’s top hitters — have left the roster.
