D'Angelo Ortiz hits a 3-run double in the ninth inning to give Brockton a win over Pittsfield

Manager Kevin Donati and the Pittsfield Suns dropped a home game to Brockton on Thursday night at Wahconah Park.

PITTSFIELD — It was a calculated risk. It didn’t work out.

With one out and runners on second and third, Pittsfield Suns manager Kevin Donati elected to walk Brockton’s Mike LaRocca to load the bases. The next hitter was D’Angelo Ortiz, and all “Little Papi” did was drive a 3-2 pitch to the wall in left-center field.
