Ryan Galanie hits the ball

Ryan Galanie and the SteepleCats had 11 hits, but left nine runners on base in a 10-5 loss to Valley on Monday.

NORTH ADAMS — The North Adams line on the Joe Wolfe Field scoreboard told a good story for the SteepleCats. After all, a five-run, 11-hit night ought to be good enough to win.

Not Monday.

“You do, but not when you spot them five to eight early on,” said SteepleCats manager Austin Straub, after his team dropped a 10-5 decision to the Valley Blue Sox.
