Taconic shuts out Wahconah, advances to the Western Mass. Class B baseball championship game

PITTSFIELD — It wasn’t Taconic’s most aesthetically pleasing win. But with a Western Massachusetts championship game appearance hanging in the balance, the Thunder will take it as is.

“Once again, our bats are pretty silent. We did enough to win,” Taconic coach Kevin Stannard said after the top seed in the PVIAC Class B tournament eliminated fifth-seeded Wahconah, 5-0 Thursday.
