PITTSFIELD — One person was injured following a two-vehicle crash on Holmes Road near Chapman Road.

Shortly before 4 p.m., Pittsfield police were called to Holmes Road and Cummings Avenue, where the male driver of a Chevy Silverado pickup collided head-on with a Toyota SUV with a female operator behind the wheel according to officers at the scene.

The names of the two drivers weren't available Monday evening, but police believe they are Pittsfield residents.

The woman was taken to Berkshire Medical Center with injuries that are not life-threatening, police said. The pickup truck driver wasn't hurt, but charges are pending against him.

Police believe the pickup operator traveling south crossed the center line, slamming into the driver side of the northbound Toyota.

Traffic was backed up in both directions for about an hour before both vehicles were towed from the scene, shortly before 5 p.m.

Anyone with information about the crash should call Officer David Hallas at the Pittsfield Police Department at 413-448-9700, ext. 560.
