1 person injured in Lee shooting


PITTSFIELD — One person was transported to Berkshire Medical Center with injuries that aren't life-threatening after a shooting in Lee on Monday.

The shooting, at 555 Chapel St. in Lee, occurred shortly after 7 p.m. There was a heavy police presence at the address around 7:45 p.m.

Lee Police Chief Jeffrey Roosa said there is no cause for public alarm.

"It's not a random shooting," he said.

No arrests had been made by 8 p.m. Monday evening, he said, and the investigation remains ongoing.

"We'll have more for you in the morning," he said.
