Thought for the day

"No persons are more frequently wrong, than those who will not admit they are wrong.” — FRANCOIS DE LA ROCHEFOUCAULD, French moralist (1613-1680)

The Greeting

Wednesday, Oct. 16, 2019

Good morning! Or is it afternoon already? Yikes!  Time flies when there's breaking news.

And because TheBeat is coming out on the late side today, I'm not going to do my usual yammering and will keep this brief.

Our top story: The Berkshire district attorney has released a statement indicating broad discrepancies between the account of a Simon's Rock student who alleges she was attacked and evidence from a wide-ranging investigation.

Also, a fire has destroyed the A-Mart on North Street in Pittsfield, and fire investigators are on scene today, trying to determine a cause.

And don't forget to batten down the hatches. Our meteorological maven Clarence Fanto has wet and stormy weather to report.

Click on the links below to read more about the latest happenings in Berkshire County.

Please keep the news wheels turning by renewing or subscribing to The Eagle today.

Very best,

Noah Hoffenberg
