Thought for the day

“There are things that are known and things that are unknown; in between are doors.” — WILLIAM BLAKE, English poet (1757-1827)

The Greeting

Wednesday, Oct. 30, 2019

O, woe is Berkshires! Just now at berkshireeagle.com, we shared news that bad weather was befouling Halloween trick-or-treating and parade plans. So far, as of this writing, Adams, Dalton, Hinsdale, Lanesborough, Lenox, North Adams, Pittsfield and Naumkeag have altered their plans because of the incoming rain and wind.

And in other news:

CALL OF THE CANDIDATES: Races in North Adams and Pittsfield will decide local elections on Nov. 5. Here's where to vote in your city.

CONSENSUAL OR NO?: An ongoing court case will decide whether the state has proved that a Great Barrington man was engaged in nonconsensual contact with an 18-year-old.

BOMB THREAT: A student has admitted to scrawling a bomb threat on a bathroom wall at Mount Everett.

TAXING THE E-WORLD: Led by state Sen. Adams Hinds, a group is looking into the possibility of taxing digital goods, such as downloads.

When you renew or subscribe to The Eagle, you get it when and where you want it: in print, and on pads, PCs and smartphones.

Very best,
