2018-19 The Berkshire Eagle All Stars: Ice hockey

Player of the Year

Corbin Rumbolt, Drury, Senior

Corbin Rumbolt capped his hockey career at Drury in a big way, helping the Blue Devils to the Western Mass. Division 3A postseason. Drury went 7-7-6 on the year, thanks in large part to Rumbolt's efforts. The senior averaged over a point a game, recording 22 points in 19 games played. Rumbolt was both scorer and provider, registering 10 goals and 12 assists. One of the assists came in the postseason-clinching win against Easthampton at the end of the season. Rumbolt was a key part of 5-on-5 situations, and also was a big factor on the power play for the Blue Devils. While the season ended with a loss to Greenfield in the first round of the postseason, Rumbolt was still able to polish off his career with a goal in the loss.

Coach of the Year

Kevin Ellingwood, Drury

Ellingwood's two-year reign as the head coach for Drury helped the Blue Devils get back into the Western Mass. Division 3A tournament over the winter. Ellingwood's guidance helped the co-op for high schools in northern Berkshire County to a 7-7-6 record on the year, and the No. 7 seed in the tournament. While the team lost to No. 2 Greenfield in the opening playoff game, the tournament appearance came a year after the team went 4-12-0. The Blue Devils also represented Berkshire County in the postseason after county teams were shut out of the 2018 postseason. One of the more remarkable facts for Drury this winter, was that the team started out 1-2-2 before winning two straight games on the road to steady the ship.
