The Pioneer Valley Interscholastic Athletic Conference recently announced its All-Star teams for both boys and girls basketball with three Berkshire County athletes earning the honor of All-Star.

Lucas Jamros, along with Izzy LaCasse and Grace Towler, represented the McCann Tech Hornets on the All-Star teams.

LaCasse and Towler played huge roles in helping the McCann Tech girls, who compete in the Franklin West League, right the ship with a five-game winning streak late in the season in order to earn a spot in the MIAA Western Massachusetts Division IV field. The Hornets closed the regular season with a record of 11-9.

In fact, LaCasse was Berkshire County's leading scorer with an average of 16.62 points per game. Her 29-point performances against Pathfinder and Putnam were the highest-scoring outings by any Berkshire County girls basketball player on the year. Towler, who did a bit of everything for the Hornets, knocked down 22 3-point shots on the year, despite missing four games, and averaged almost 11 points per game. The junior notched a season-high 18 points against Pioneer Valley on Jan. 10.

Jamros, a longtime stalwart in the Hornets boys hoop program, was a consistent threat for McCann Tech, members of the Tri-County North. In his senior campaign he helped the Hornets to a 9-11 record, averaging 7.3 points per game and leading the team in rebounding for the second-straight year. The senior's best performance was a 15-point outing against Lenox on Jan. 31. The one-point win was good for McCann's ninth victory on the year.
