Thought of the day

“Poetry is the shortest distance between two humans.” ― Lawrence Ferlinghetti, poet

The Greeting

Wednesday, April 24, 2019

Rise and shine, Berkshires! Today is your Wednesday. Welcome to it.

Today's Beat answers some questions about the Berkshire Carousel near downtown Pittsfield. The owners are looking for someone else to take the reins.

The Mohawk Theater in North Adams might work its way into the hands of a private developer, after about 20 years of ownership by the city.

So far, the relationship between the Berkshire Family Y and the Bennington, Vt., Recreation Center is working out well, according to that town's Select Board.

A proposed 50-unit, mixed-income rental project in Lenox attracted some skeptics at a hearing Monday night.

And the Great Barrington Farmers Market is seeking to raise money to help subsidize healthy and local products for people receiving food assistance from the state.
