Enjoy an evening of music

Tony Award-winning composer-lyricist Jason Robert Brown will play a one-night-only concert at 8 p.m. Monday at Barrington Stage Company's Boyd-Quinson Mainstage. Brown and his band will perform selections from his shows, as well as songs from his new album, "How We React and How We Recover." Brown is a three-time Tony Award winner for "Parade" (Best Score) and "The Bridges of Madison County" (Best Score, Best Orchestrations). His musicals also include "Songs for a New World," "The Last Five Years," "13," "Honeymoon in Vegas," and the upcoming Billy Crystal musical, "Mr. Saturday Night." No need to sit in traffic to go to the beach

Come to downtown North Adams and play in the 500,00 pounds of sand that will turn Eagle Street into a beach! The 21st Annual Eagle Street Beach Party & Evening Fiesta will be held Saturday — the beach party, featuring family friendly sand fun, begins at 3:30 and continues to 6:30 p.m.; followed by the fiesta for adults from 7 to 10 p.m. The fiesta at night, for adults only, will feature adult games, along with margaritas and Corona beer with live music from singer Lita Williams. Eagle Street merchants and businesses have contributed sand toys and prizes for attendees, as well as special prizes for the most creative sand castles or sand sculptures.

Calling all chili and chowder lovers!

The Boys & Girls Club of the Berkshires will host its annual Chili & Chowder Fest from 6 to 10 p.m. Friday at Camp Russell, 341 Boys Club Road, Richmond. In addition to chili and chowder, the fest will feature craft beers, boat rides, raffles, lawn games, hourly giveaways, food, live music by local all-star bands, frozen margaritas and daiquiris and beer. The cost is $25 per person, which includes chili, chowder and two tokens for food from the grill. Attendees must be 21 or older. Tickets available at the club, 16 Melville St., Pittsfield, and at the door.

School may be out, but there's always time to learn more

Explore "The Science of You!" when the Berkshire Museum's annual Free Community Science Night returns from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Friday. Don't miss this exciting evening of science, invention and sensory fun, where families of all ages are invited to explore Grossology, discover the brain, become a germ, follow the life of a sneeze, and more! Plus, don't miss the colorful grand finale on the front lawn at 7:15 p.m. The museum is at 39 South St., Pittsfield.
