Thought for the day

“The main dangers in this life are the people who want to change everything — or nothing.” VISCOUNTESS NANCY ASTOR, American-born British politician (1879-1964)

The Greeting

Alisa Marra smiles as she realizes she has won the Helping Hands Award at the 2019 Berkshire Eagle All Stars Gala at the Boys and Girls Club of the Berkshires in Pittsfield on Wednesday.

Thursday, June 27, 2019

Good morning, Berkshire County.  I know it's just Thursday, but I've already got that Friday feeling.  Bring on the weekend!

Wednesday was a day to salute our young athletes and their amazing accomplishments. Kudos to everyone who helped make The Berkshire Eagle All Stars Gala a big success. If you weren't able to attend the event at the Boys & Girls Club of the Berkshires, check out our Facebook page to watch a video of the event.

The Berkshire Immigrant Center has a new leader, and she was introduced to the community at an open house on Wednesday.

A Dalton man injured in the New Hampshire crash that left seven motorcyclists dead faces a long road to recovery, according to his lawyer.

The firm hired to build the new Wahconah Regional High School says the project will be completed by fall 2021.

If you subscribe today, you'll help keep us covering the small towns of the Berkshires, as well as the big cities.

Very best,

Jimmy Nesbitt
Berkshire Eagle deputy managing editor
