Thought for the day

“A heretic is a man who sees with his own eyes.” — GOTTHOLD LESSING, German dramatist-critic (1729-1781)

The Greeting

Monday, Sept. 9, 2019

Greetings, Berkshire County. Have you fired up your wood-burning stove or fireplace yet?  My wife and I have not; so far, sweatpants and sweatshirts seem to be handling the late summer chill.

While you're struggling to stay warm, we have these stories ...

Fairview Hospital was in lockdown recently, but thankfully it was only a drill.

The candidates for Ward 6 want your vote in the upcoming preliminary election in Pittsfield.

In Lee, town history is taking a trip to the 21st century for the benefit of residents.

In Pittsfield, Habitat for Humanity is making a dream into reality for this county couple and their young children.

The Great Barrington Board of Health is adding its name to the list of parties concerned with the advent of a cannabis cultivator in town.

In other cannabis news, the building at 173 Howland Ave. in Adams is being eyed by a developer who wants to start a marijuana cultivation business at the site.
