Aglet Theatre Company offers 'Marjorie Prime' reading in Sheffield

SHEFFIELD — Aglet Theatre Company is presenting a staged reading of Jordan Harrison's "Marjorie Prime" Saturday afternoon and evening at Dewey Memorial Hall, 91 Main St. (Route 7).

Performances are scheduled for 2:30 and 7:30 p.m. Doors open at 2 and 7 p.m. for complimentary beverages and refreshments. The reading is followed by a discussion.

Macey Levin is directing Deron Bayer, Joan Coombs, Lori Evans, and Chris Tucci in this play about an 85-year-old woman, Marjorie, a jumble of disparate, fading memories, who, in this age of artificial intelligence, has a handsome new companion who's programmed to feed the story of her life back to her. Harrison's play explores the mysteries of human identity and the limits — if any — of what technology can replace.

Reservations are available at or by phone at 860-435-6928. Aglet accepts cash or check only.
