Annie Rush delivers game winner in 3rd for Williams women's ice hockey

WILLIAMSTOWN — The Williams College women's ice hockey team handed Saint Anselm its first loss of the season with a 2-1 victory on Wednesday night.

Eph goalie Marissa Anderson saved 29 of the 30 shots that came her way on the night as Williams improves to 3-1.

Kelly Golini scored the game's first goal just minutes into the first period, giving the Hawks a 1-0 lead.

Williams answered on a power play in the middle of the second period as Gabi Montembeault tied the game at one with her first goal of the season.

The game-winner came four minutes into the third period as Abby Brustad and Meghan Halloran set up Annie Rush's first goal of the season. The goal broke the tie and sealed the 2-1 victory for Williams.

The Ephs hit the ice next on Saturday, hosting Wesleyan, with the puck scheduled to drop at 7 p.m.
