Church on the Hill:

PITTSFIELD

Dr. John Hamilton, interim minister, will share his Stories of Faith, Hope and Love: "You're Surrounded." The Rev. Joel Huntington will share the children's message, "A Big Hug." A combined Fellowship Hour in the South Church parlor will be followed by a Lenten poetry study led by Huntington as he explores a poem by Mary Oliver and lifting up the theme of sacred immanence.

First Church of Christ, Scientist: 17 Wendell Ave. Worship and Sunday school: 10:30 a.m. Topic: "Substance." Golden Text: Luke 12:32 & 34. Wednesday testimony meetings: 7:30 p.m. Reading room open 10 a.m. to noon Monday and Friday.

First United Methodist: 55 Fenn St. Worship, children's Sunday school, and nursery at 10 a.m. Free community breakfast at 8:30 a.m. Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, and Friday. Morningside Baptist: 475 Tyler St. Second Sunday in Lent service at 9:30 a.m. followed by coffee and fellowship. Pastor Steve Buchauer's sermon, "And the Wisdom to Know the Difference," is based on Psalm 27.

Pilgrim Memorial: 249 Wahconah St. In an effort to reduce wear and tear on the heating system, winter worship services will be held on the second and fourth Sundays of the month. The next service will be held at 10 a.m. March 24. Lay minister: Donna J. Swiers.

Reigning Love Church: 235 East St. Pastors Brian and Laurie Reynolds. Sunday service at 10 a.m. Child care for birth to fifth grade. Youth group meets from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday.

South Congregational: 110 South St. Worship: 10 a.m. Nursery care and church school. This Sunday, First Church in Park Square and South Church will share in a joint worship experience at South with the Rev. Dr. John Hamilton of First Church, preaching, and the Rev. Joel Huntington of South, assisting. The focus of worship will be the abiding presence of God's holy love in our lives and world. Both South Church and First Church are open and affirming congregations welcoming all and together they seek to be a nourishing presence in the community.
