The on-again, off-again Berkshire County Classic high school golf tournament is back on.

Lenox High School golf coach, and Classic organizer Dick Salinetti, wrote in an email Sunday night that the 18-hole tournament will be played on Saturday at The Country Club of Pittsfield.

The tournament, featuring 18 of Berkshire County's top golfers, had been postponed two weeks ago because of wet grounds at Stockbridge Golf Club. Then, because of more rain this week, the event had been cancelled.

"After being frustrated by rain, flooding and poor playing conditions at Stockbridge Golf Club, resulting in two cancellations of the Berkshire High School Golf Classic," Salinetti wrote in the email, The Country Club of Pittsfield has generously volunteered and stepped forward to host the tournament for this year."

The tourney will start Saturday at noon.

In his email, Salinetti gave thanks to CCofP board member Mark DiGrigoli, club president Greg Knight and members of the Country Club for "making this happen."
