Berkshire County: Memorial Day Observances

The following communities have provided information on their Memorial Day observances. All events take place Monday, May 25.


Local veteran groups will hold private remembrances in Great Barrington and Housatonic. These events will not be open to the public.


Wave parade begins at 10 a.m. at the Fire Station on Main Street closing with a brief ceremony at the church park next to Memorial Town Hall. At 1 p.m., the central Fire Station whistle will blow, signaling townspeople to observe 30 seconds of silence to remember all veterans.


Memorial services will take place at Lenox Dale Veterans' Monument at 9 a.m., St. Ann's Cemetery at 9:30 a.m., and Church on the Hill at 10 a.m.

The Lenox VFW, Police Department and Fire Department will conduct a wave parade throughout much of Lenox beginning at 11 a.m.

Social distancing must be adhered to and everyone must wear a face covering. Those who fail or refuse to adhere to the public safety guidelines will be asked to leave.


Tribute to past and present veterans at 8 a.m. at Pittsfield Cemetery. The ceremony is closed to the public. Pittsfield Community Television will replay the event on CityLink Channel 1303 and PCTV Select (available online, and via Roku and Apple TV) at 10 a.m. Monday.


American Legion Post 340 will observe Memorial Day with a private ceremony at Barnard Park.


The Fire Department and Police Department will conduct a wave parade throughout the town starting at 10 a.m.
