Berkshire County sports notes: Talkin' Baseball event returns to Baseball in the Berkshire Museum this weekend
Baseball in the Berkshires Museum will host a double "Talkin' Baseball" session on Saturday to celebrate its one-year anniversary.
From 1-3 p.m., Pittsfield Suns general manager Kristen Huss will talk about the upcoming Futures League season.
Then from 3-4, Jonah Bayliss, a former pitcher for the Kansas City Royals and Pittsburgh Pirates, will talk about his career.
The Baseball in the Berkshires Museum is located inside the Berkshire Mall.
Mount Greylock boys lacrosse fundraiser
The Mount Greylock boys lacrosse team will host a Restaurant Night at Ramunto's Brick Oven Pizza in North Adams on Sunday from 5-8 p.m.
The team will receive 10 percent of each bill that evening.
Ramunto's is located at 67 Main St.
The Kingsbread Pride 14U boys basketball team completed a stellar weekend at the Pound the Rock Tournament at Hudson Valley Community College in Troy, N.Y. last weekend. Kingsbread went 5-0 over the two-day event, taking home the tournament championship. They started the tournament with a 56-53 win over the Warriors in pool play. They advanced to the championship bracket with a 70-49 win over Bison 9.
Kingsbread defeated CDP 8 Blue 71-54, before advancing the semifinals. Kingsbread faced its toughest competition in the semi, beating 518 Elite 66-62. They clinched a championship with a 55-43 win over CDP Howard.
The Kingsbread Lady Lions varsity team won the ZeroGravity Spring Fling 4.0 tournament in Lansingburg, N.Y. last weekend.
The Lady Lions went 1-1 during pool play before winning three games in a row to clinch the tournament.
The Lady Lions started the championship round with a 55-26 win over the New York Warriors. They avenged their loss in pool play, beating the Albany Lady Falcons 70-56 in the semis. The third-seeded Lady Lions cruised to a 59-33 win over the Saugerties Sonics in the championship.
The Kingsbread Pride 16U boys went 1-2 at the Hall of Fame New England Championships. The Kingsbread Pride 12U boys went 2-2 at the Pound the Rock Tournament.
The Shoreline Sharks 16U team won the championship at the Chipotle-USA Hockey Girls Tier II Nationals, beating the Vermont Shamrocks 1-0. It's the second time in two years the Sharks have taken home the title. Kate Hagness netted the winner in the third period. Berkshire School students Emily Bouvier (Shelton, Conn.) and Gillian Maher (Pearl River, N.Y.) were keys cogs in the victory.
The Sharks have gone 12-0 over the past two years in national tournament play. They finished the 2017-2018 season with a 32-9-3 record.
